CALSTART is changing transportation for good

The Sustainable Fleets Program goals support CALSTART’s mission to achieve 100% zero-emission vehicle sales by 2040 while helping build a prosperous, efficient, and clean high-tech transportation industry. Our goals are to:

  • Accelerate zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) adoption in California and nationally.
  • Create industry-standard processes and measurements to provide meaningful recognition and accreditation to fleets for reducing environmental impact and improving their bottom line.
  • Identify opportunities to deploy zero-emission technologies in fleets.
  • Provide resources for fleets to set and achieve evolving sustainability goals.

Partnering with the California Air Resources Board – it just makes sense

Regardless of your fleet’s location, CARB is widely recognized as the national leader in advancing zero-emission vehicles and fleets, and other states often follow their lead. CALSTART has established a successful relationship with CARB over many years and is bringing the benefits of this partnership to the Sustainable Fleets Program.

  • California fleets receive Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) sponsorship to cover the cost of participating in the Sustainable Fleets Program.
  • CALSTART and CARB are committed to provide high-profile recognition and promotion to Sustainable Fleets that achieve Platinum-, Gold-, and Silver-level accreditation.
  • The Sustainable Fleets accreditation process and recognition tiers are aligned with the CARB proposed Advanced Clean Fleets regulation, which will accelerate the number of medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicle purchases, all to achieve a full transition to ZEVs in California as soon as possible.
